I feel the same way about Christmas songs EVEN IF THEY MENTION CHRISTMAS. Like "Last Christmas" - you could insert any other day, it works the same. In fact, some work better logically, like New Year's or Valentines.

Tonight I'm taking him out to his favorite restaurant, driving around looking at Christmas lights and we'll go home and watch some of his favorite Christmas shows with eggnog and a healthy dose of rum for me. If Christmas is wonderful, then the day after Christmas is stupendous.

He was, by all accounts, a really great guy, gave back to the community and his annual Christmas display, inviting the public in to actually walk about his farm was as traditional as driving down to Point Lookout on a Friday night used to be. Planning this Christmas thing in his honor would have been something that touched his heart.
